CHESS ENGINES and COACHES will help you improve FASTER.
This site will teach you some methods and systems of training as well as lessons to help you become better players - beginners to experts. I’m a National Master in the Philippines and a coach of two prestigious schools. I’ll post my credentials later. For now I will give tips on how to train with the engines.
1. If you don’t have any chess playing programs yet, download Arena, its help file and books. Read the help files for directions. (I’ll discuss how to use Fritz n Chessbase in my next topics.)
2. Download the following engines in the Arena website. An alternative is WBEC Ridderkerk.

3. If you are a beginner, play the lowest rated engine first, Xadreco. It has all the characteristics of a beginner. If you have beaten it convincingly, play the next one. This method will reflect your approximate rating. Unlike us, the engines’ performance is stable. It doesn’t get tired, intimidated or over confident. The downside is you might not get pressured. That will be my next topic- “HOW CAN CHESS ENGINES MAKE YOU FEEL NERVOUS”? You will somehow simulate a game versus a human. You will be playing the engines as if you are playing in a tournament with all the pressures in it. Just remember, a practice against a human player is the still best. The engines are just tools for improvement.
4. Watch for my next topics as well. “Thinking Patterns and Methods”, “Training Systems”, “How to Study and Train Systematically”.
Enjoy the game. Savor the performance. Earn the result. TRAIN HARDER.
